We close our sixth season with 18th-century orchestral music inspired by Mother Nature herself! From Haydn’s depiction of morning (Symphony no. 6, “Le matin”) to David Perez’s symphonic storm at sea (Sinfonia in D major, “La tempestad del mar”), you’ll see that many baroque and classical composers found abundant inspiration for their music right outside their studio windows. We’ll also bring you Jean-Féry Rebel’s musical depiction of the Ancient Greek creation myth (Les Élemens), and excerpts from Rameau’s comic masterpiece Platée, featuring soprano Julianna Emanski.
